How much does a tattoo cost?
Costs vary based on artist and tattoo. Things that factor into cost are placement on body, image size, and amount of detail. Every artist has an hourly rate, please consult them prior to the tattoo for their hourly rate.
Do you tattoo minors?
We DO NOT tattoo anyone under the age of 18. No Exceptions
Do you use latex gloves?
Some of our artist’s do prefer latex gloves, it is your responsibility to inform the artist prior to the appointment of any allergies or conditions that may be an issue during the tattoo.
Are you appointment only?
While most of our artists book to varying degrees in advance. There is an off chance they may have time for a walk-in or a free spot that they may be able to put you. It will always be best to schedule an appointment. Please reach out to an artist individually to see what their schedule and wait times are. Also, follow everyone on Instagram, free spaces are often posted to their stories along with available flash.
What type of payment do you accept?
Each artist at Tooth and Nail handles their payments individually. While most of us accept both card and cash. Cash will always be the preferred method of payment. Tips in cash are also welcome. Please consult with your artist prior to the appointment if you have any questions.

Will my tattoo hurt?
Your tattoo will hurt and you will feel it. The act of tattooing to using needles to permanently put ink into your skin. The feeling will vary based on person and body part being tattooed. In order to prepare, please eat a good meal before getting tattooed, drink extra water starting two days before, and get a good nights sleep the night prior to your appointment.
Is your equipment sterile?
At Tooth and Nail, we take equipment safety and cleanliness serious. We follow protocols put forth by the health department as well as receive inspections routinely. Any equipment that may be touching the tattoo is disposable and will be new upon arrival for the appointment. As well as discarded after your appointment is completed. Everything is then sterilized with medical grade sterilants to maintain cleanliness. Our artists are licensed and have undergone the proper training to handle bio hazard waste.
How do I take care of my new tattoo?
While each artists may have their own recommendation for healing your new tattoo, the general guidelines will be the same. Most of our artists use a product called Recovery Derm Shield. The manufacturer describes the product as such, “Effortlessly protect your new tattoos with Recovery Derm Shield, a latex-free, transparent matte film adhesive bandage. Derm Shield offers maximum breathability and flexibility, providing optimal conditions for flawless, gentle healing and skin renewal. It eliminates scabbing and reduces the risk of scarring, while preventing exposure to bacteria, dirt, and abrasion. Derm Shield is waterproof, but permeable to allow skin perspiration. “
Using this a product like Derm Shield removes a lot of work needed to heal your tattoo. You will leave this bandage on for a few days and take it off in the shower. Then you will switch to a non-scented lotion and moisturize for at least two weeks. You will notice build up of plasma underneath the bandage, this is normal and part of the healing process. If your bandage leaks, please contact your artist. For any other questions about the healing process, consult your artist before leaving.
